Helping physicians effectively transition from their clinical practice into executive leader roles.
Are you, as a new physician leader struggling with…
a lack of executive skills despite having outstanding clinical skills and prior leadership roles.
inexperience navigating conflict, providing critical feedback to peers, managing project timelines, budgets, and success metrics.
leading change initiatives that are sustainable and durable.
developing the resilience to learn from failure in your new role when in the past you were always viewed as highly competent.
managing an assigned dyad relationship with an administrative leader/partner.
identifying and developing physicians with leadership potential to create a succession plan and a pipeline of physician leaders.
Navigating change is challenging, and often requires the counsel of someone empathetic to those who work at the bedside, in the operating room, and in the boardroom.
Meet the Founder
I was fortunate enough to enjoy a long and fulfilling 25 year career in Neurological Surgery having trained at Mayo Medical School and the University of Michigan, and later served as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for a global medical device company.
In the course of my career, I came to believe that the very qualities that support excellent clinical performance might ultimately create barriers to effective physician executive performance.
I founded 3Pines in part because I thought there might be need for someone who had worked as a neurosurgeon, a health system leader, and a corporate executive to work with physicians who wanted to transition their careers from clinical practice to executive leadership.
The unique blend of neurosurgical clinical experience, health system leadership, and corporate executive leadership brings a level credibility that my clients value.
